This creative agency website was built for SCALE, a full service studio in Kampala working across brand identity, design, digital, film and print. Designing for designers raises the bar, since the site itself becomes a work sample. Therefore the brief was simple to state and hard to execute: let the work do the talking.

Work first, words second

The homepage opens with a moving wall of project imagery before a single sentence of explanation. Because a prospective client judges a studio on output rather than on adjectives, this ordering does more persuading than a paragraph could. In addition, the featured work grid links straight into individual case studies for Acacia Hotels, Tam Real Estate, Rwanyamahembe SACCO and others.

A creative agency website with a defined process

Clients hesitate when they cannot picture how a project runs. Consequently the site sets out five named stages, from discovery through strategy, design and refinement to launch, with a plain description of what happens at each. As a result, a first time buyer of design work understands the commitment before the first meeting.

Services grouped, not listed

SCALE offers eight distinct services. Rather than a long list, these are grouped into three clusters: brand identity and strategy, websites and digital, and content, film and print. Meanwhile the client logo wall, which includes a government ministry and several SACCOs, shows the range without needing to describe it.

Three weeks, two offices
